The material is thick enough to feel sturdy, not tissue paper thin and flimsy. At the same time it's not a winter weight material and I've ran in them comfortably during the summer. I've put a couple hundred miles on these shorts and there has been no pilling on the inner thighs or crotch. I like how it doesn't have a large pocket for phones, I don't need such a feature. My only minor complaint is as a right handed person it would feel more natural accessing the small key pocket if it were located left of center of the inner front instead of right of center where it is positioned. However this is not a big deal.
